Renovation of the existing Small Animal Surgery and Critical Care Services; and construction of a new building addition to house additional surgical operating; procedure and support spaces. The 20,000 sf project will create a small-animal surgery unit with the capacity to accomodate increased caseload and improve operational efficiencies. Additional spaces for anesthesia and induction will be incorporated. Other features include: added Emergency Dept. (ED) spaces, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and improved operational efficiency between (ED) and (ICU).

Petry-Kuhne was selected to complete various packages on multiple buildings at 'Carle at the Fields' development including Carpentry, Steel Erection, and Misc. Offering a wide variety of self-performed services has been a strength that has allowed PK to add value on thousands of projects over our history. As Kirby Medical Center continues to experience success, the need for expansion became a reality. Petry-Kuhne Company has been partnered with Kirby on constructing a number of projects including this new 32,000 sf expansion and renovation project. Complete renovation of the Level 3 Rehab Floor at Carle Hospital, 27,000 s.f., including 15 patient rooms with bariatric patient lifts. The project includes replacement of the ductwork inside three shafts over multiple floors with minimal disruption to hospital operations. The work was completed without temporary Air Handler leading to substantial savings to construction costs.

This 62,000 s.f. new facility houses both orthopedics and sports medicine. It
provides one convenient location for diagnosis, treatment, training and rehab. The space includes a
40-yard dash track, office and exam rooms as well as a therapy gym with sports enhancement training to
accommodate patients with mobility challenges as they prepare for or recover from treatment.

Complete fitout of the top floor of Carle's Heart & Vascular Institute, this project which was originally scheduled as a (9) month duration, was completed (5) weeks ahead of schedule allowing our client to begin the process of moving equipment, furnishings, and training people to use the space earlier than anticipated.

PK Steel Erection Division (Central Illinois Erectors) erected structural steel for this (7) story addition and erected the (2) story addition on top of existing facility. Working over the top of an existing facility presented a high level of tedious workmanship and skill. We also erected the structural precast wall panels, hollow core floor planks, and the ornamental/misc. steel for the building.

This Carle Heliport was constructed to provide a second landing pad for Carle Foundation Hospital’s main campus. Timely completion was critical as the Heliport had to be fully operational within 60 days from the start of the project so that construction of a major addition to the main hospital could proceed on time.

This multi-phased 2 story addition presented many challenges. The project was delivered by working in an occupied hospital environment directly adjacent to a fully functional OR. To meet the owner’s needs, a complex phasing plan was implemented so that work could progress on schedule while not affecting the daily operations of the hospital. Petry-Kuhne coordinated with the hospital staff, subcontractors, and vendors to create one of the leading, state-of-the-art Birthing Centers in the region.
