Having worked with Altorfer as a customer who provides top quality rentals and service, Petry-Kuhne was thrilled to partner with Altorfer in expanding its business to Champaign. Construction was completed in 3 months. Petry-Kuhne Company has extensive experience in Retail and Design-Build projects such as this one. Petry-Kuhne Company has enjoyed a long relationship with the University of Illinois over many decades. Projects completed on the UIUC campus have come in all: shapes & sizes, construction types, and areas of campus.

Petry-Kuhne/CIE was selected to provide general trades and steel erection scope on this energy conservation improvements project at the Seitz Material Research Laboratory at UIUC. Project includes the installation of new HVAC equipment, direct digital controls, fume hoods, heat recovery systems, and occupancy sensors. PK has enjoyed success in partnering with: Mechanical Subcontractors, Energy Performance Contractors, and Owners in completing similar scopes of work on numerous projects.

Petry-Kuhne performed design-build services in constructing this new CrossFit Facility for Kirby Medical Center. Combining the rugged feel of a CrossFit Gymnasium with architecture that fits well into a modern healthcare campus was key and came off as a success for our client. This structure was completed on schedule and PK took great care in finishing out the interior and assisting in equipment installation to make sure all items were installed precisely to owner's exact needs for this unique building use.

As the high-density storage unit for the University Library, Oak Street Library has the unique role of maximizing preservation of the items it houses while simultaneously shelving them strategically to ensure the least amount of storage space is wasted. The vaults that house UIUC collection are climate controlled by state-of-the-art hvac system to guarantee the ideal temperature and humidity level for maintaining the structural integrity of print resources (about 50° Fahrenheit and 30% humidity respectively).

50,000 sq. ft. distribution center built to house printing presses, offices, and warehousing for the area’s leading local newspaper.

PK's Steel Erection Team (Central Illinois Erectors) provided erection of this 730,000 sq. ft. warehouse and office facility made out of structural steel – joists and deck. PK/CIE also provided misc. metal fabrications installation/erection on this project, which with a building of this size was quite extensive. The project was completed in 2 months during the middle of one of the coldest winters on record.

PK was selected to construct this new 150,000 sq. ft. manufacturing, distribution, office/sales facility combing three major operations for Patterson Dental which were previously housed at separate facilities. The project included sophisticated HVAC, high voltage electrical, superflat concrete floors, specialized floor coatings, and high tech office space. Petry-Kuhne's long term commitment and record of delivering project's on time was key to being selected.
