With its origin dating back to 1905, St. Thomas Catholic School has been a staple in the Philo and Central Illinois community for over a century. By approval of this project St. Thomas took a great step forward to assure the community will be provided with excellent education for years to come. With classroom additions, administration offices, new gymnasium, site upgrades, and code improvements - St. Thomas has set the bar high for other school systems to follow. In conjunction with KAP Architecture, Petry-Kuhne completed design-build services for this amazing project!

This new soccer and track complex for the University of Illinois located at the new Demirjian Park will be the first of its kind on UIUC campus providing a home for both the soccer and track programs. The new $13.4M, 21,300 square foot facility will provide locker rooms and team facilities for women's soccer and men's and women's track; official's locker rooms, bleachers for viewing both track and soccer events; and public concessions and restroom facilities.

Designed by Architect HNTB, this brand-new 112,000 square foot, $79.2M Illinois Football Performance Center will greatly enhance football recruiting. The building has three floor levels... the lower level contains weight room, offices, entrances, and lobby.... and connects to the existing Indoor Practice Facility. The first level contains locker rooms, lounge, nutrition, equipment room, laundry, sports medicine, and hydrotherapy. The second level contains offices, meeting rooms, coaches lockers, lounge, and main auditorium.

Petry-Kuhne constructed this new playground which features a toddler play area (ages 2-5), as well as an area designed for children ages 5-12 years. Play features include multiple slides, climbing structures, a 3-story tower, prism sun catchers, accessible merry-go-round, and Expression swings – a dual swing designed for parent and toddler. The playground surface is poured in place synthetic surface rather than mulch, improving accessibility. A storm water drainage system was installed underneath the playground surface.

Petry-Kuhne performed design-build services in constructing this new CrossFit Facility for Kirby Medical Center. Combining the rugged feel of a CrossFit Gymnasium with architecture that fits well into a modern healthcare campus was key and came off as a success for our client. This structure was completed on schedule and PK took great care in finishing out the interior and assisting in equipment installation to make sure all items were installed precisely to owner's exact needs for this unique building use.

Construction Management services were provided by our firm to oversee this 121,000 SF, 22.8M Public Library Facility in Champaign's down town. The facility services Champaign Urbana, and is within walking distance of University of Illinois Campus. The library facility is organized on two levels separating the youth and adult services with the administration located on a third floor mezzanine. The facility boasts a series of lightwells and clerestories that allow natural light to reach the first level childrens collection.

In addition to structures such as this, Petry-Kuhne has erected many Champaign-Urbana landmarks including: towers, sculptures, and artwork throughout Central Illinois.

This award-winning renovation of one of Champaign-Urbana’s most highly traveled corners transformed this neighborhood by creating a new park for all to enjoy. It is amazing how a new park space will revitalize a 'tired' area of a city, and this goal was most certainly accomplished by this project. Petry-Kuhne has completed numerous park / recreation spaces in central Illinois finishing each project on schedule with high marks on customer satisfaction and quality.

Petry-Kuhne was the successful bidder on both phases of this award-winning park featuring walking & bike paths, sledding hill, tennis courts, soccer field, baseball field, basketball courts, skate park and one-of-a-kind dragon fly bridge.
