This Carle Heliport was constructed to provide a second landing pad for Carle Foundation Hospital’s main campus. Timely completion was critical as the Heliport had to be fully operational within 60 days from the start of the project so that construction of a major addition to the main hospital could proceed on time.
Intense coordination was critical on this project, as crane operations could not conflict with the adjacent helicopter pad. A sophisticated fire protection system was integrated into the construction sequence, and the overall completion date was met on time with the project being completed within budget.
