Construction Management services were provided by our firm to oversee this 121,000 SF, 22.8M Public Library Facility in Champaign's down town. The facility services Champaign Urbana, and is within walking distance of University of Illinois Campus. The library facility is organized on two levels separating the youth and adult services with the administration located on a third floor mezzanine. The facility boasts a series of lightwells and clerestories that allow natural light to reach the first level childrens collection. A central two level atrium wows the patron and acts as a gateway between the various sections of the facility.

The new facility provides a high tech, state of the art facility, which meets the needs of the Public for a 21st Century Library Facility. The project was constructed with the constraints of a small site, a tight budget, accelerated time frame, and was constructed while keeping the immediately adjacent library facility open and operational for the duration of construction. PK delivered on budget, logistics, and schedule making this project not only a great success for the company, but for the Champaign Urbana community as well.
